How to add new FP&A Objectives and Views
After going through the implementation process the main way in which we customize the reporting package on a monthly basis as part of a continuous improvement process is by:
-
adding new FP&A objectives
-
adding new or modifying existing views (pages in the reporting package),
-
removing material from the reporting package that is no longer relevant.
-
modifying the data request

How New Objectives are Added
Please see here for a more formalized approach that is best used during the implementation process or for a significant re-design of the reporting package.
When a more informal process is called for, these are usually handled as part of actions items identified during the review meeting. At the end of the meeting, the new objective will be defined, clarified, and any changes to the data request for the following month will be discussed.
How New Views are Added
New views are also added as actions items identified at the end of the review meetings.
The video above provides a good overview of outlines how new views are added, depending on how significant the changes are. Also included is how to implement complex new views, and those that require changes to the data request.
Minor adjustments to views and visual preferences are taken note of throughout the review meeting, and are summarized as action items at the end of the meeting.

Removing Material from the Reporting Package that is no Longer Relevant
Our software tracks the amount of time that spent viewing each view. Periodically, we will make suggestions to remove views, or entire FP&A objectives from the reporting package if they are not getting sufficient view time.
Sometimes removing views or objections can also result in the removal of some data from the monthly data request, which helps cut down on the time required for data entry each month.

Modifying the Data Request
Throughout all of the steps outlined above, the data request is always kept to the lowest amount of detail possible that is required to meet all chosen FP&A objectives and views.

We are pleased to offer demos to potential clients.
As part of the demo, we follow a structured process and will develop three reporting package similar to the examples provided on this website, but using your organization's summarized financial data.
It will also discuss the implementation and data submission process.
Demo are provided by David, and are normally conducted in person at your place of business and take about half a day.
All you need to do is submit your financial statements and let us know a bit about what you would like to accomplish from your FP&A system.
Request a Demo
If you are a small or mid sized organization location in Ontario and are ready to give us a few hours of your time, then we would be happy to give you a demo.
Either a introductory call or booking a demo are both great options as the first step in getting in touch with DHAC and can be booked here.
See below for a video overview and some general guidelines for what to expect during a demo.
The reporting packages will demonstrate:

What to expect during implementation

What to expect in the first year

An "up-to, not-to-exceed" level of detail in the reporting package
